PRINCE TO COMPETE IN ALLIANCE GAMES AS SBL SCOUT TEAM MEMBER

OXFORD, AL – Choccolocco’s Brandon Prince has been selected to compete for the 2022 Sun Belt League (SBL) Prospect Team. Along with some of the SBL’s top talent, Prince will have an opportunity to showcase his abilities in front of pro scouts during the 2022 Alliance Games, taking place June 27th and 28th at Liberty University.

A native of Carrollton, Ga, Prince found his way to Georgia Tech by way of Georgia Highlands College. As a first year this past season with the Yellow Jackets, the infielder saw action in 14 games, including an appearance in the Knoxville Regional against the top seeded Tennessee Volunteers. Since making his first SBL start on June 8th, Prince has gone 11-for-26 (.423) and currently sports an eight-game hit streak that dates back to his debut. The lead-off man paces the team in multiple categories including: Hits (11), Runs (7), doubles (3), and stolen bases (9). The five-tool player has seen action in the infield and outfield this summer for Manager Steve Gillispie, making him one of the more versatile players in the league.

The upcoming Alliance Games present an opportunity for Prince to be seen in front of big-league scouts, as the 21-year-old is eligible for this year's 2022 MLB First-Year Player Draft which will be held July 17th-19th. The SBL’s finest will share the field with other projectable college players from around the country including prospects from the Florida Collegiate Summer League and the Southern Collegiate League. There is some discussion that the games will be livestreamed on MLB.com.
