NO HITTER HIGHLIGHTS MONSTERS DOUBLEHEADER SWEEP

COLUMBUS, GA - Eric Moore hurled the first no-hit game in Chattahoochee Monsters history as part of a doubleheader sweep of the Atlanta Crackers on Sunday afternoon at Historic Golden Park.

Moore pitched the first half of the doubleheader, striking out six and walking three as he held the Cracker hitless for seven innings while the Monsters scored once in the bottom of the first and five times in the bottom of the third inning for a 6-0 win. The Acworth, GA native is a senior at Columbus State University.

In game two the Monsters had to rally from behind, scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth inning and plating the winning run on a balk against Crackers pitcher Trenton Burnett for a 3-2 final.

With the wins the Monsters now improve to 8-4 on the season and are 2.5 games back of the SunBelt-leading Gainesville Gol’Diggers. Tickets are on sale now for all future Monster games via the team’s website at MonstersBB.com or by calling (706) 507-4625.
