MONSTERS WIN SUNBELT TITLE!

ATLANTA, GA - The Choccolocco Monsters swept the Sunbelt Baseball League Final with a decisive 8-1 win over the Atlanta Crackers on Friday night.

The Monsters built a 4-0 lead by the top of the third inning, ignited by Taylor Harris' RBI double to get it going in the frame. Then the Monsters closed out the inning with a double steal of home as Harris came in while Jake Goolsby took second on the play.

Goolsby led the way offensively, going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Fisher Moss went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs driven in and Hugh Windle also put up a 3-for-4 night with an RBI. 

Monsters pitchers dominated the game, with starter Harris Polk going five innings for the win, scattering three hits while striking out five and walking none. Thomas Ballard went three innings, allowing four hits and one earned run while walking two and striking out six. Caleb Jatko came on to get the first two outs of the ninth inning, and Carson Tyree getting the game's final out by getting Breydon Devine to ground out to short.
