MONSTERS SPLIT SERIES WITH CANNONS, WILL FACE WILD THINGS THIS WEEKEND

The Choccolocco Monsters earned a road split against the Cartersville Cannons to start the week, and will now head to Waleska to take on the Wild Things this Friday and Saturday night.

After winning a relatively low-scoring affair on Monday by a 3-2 count, the offense exploded for both teams on Wednesday night as they combined for 17 runs on 22 hits as the Cannons won 10-7.

Cole Tremain continued his hot start to the season with three more RBIs and his second home run. He is currently hitting .444, good for fourth place in the Sunbelt Baseball League leaderboard, and has a 1.355 OPS. Andrew Wells also went 2-for-3 with three RBIs as well.

Up next is the equally-hot Waleska Wild Things this weekend. Each team has started the season 4-1 although Waleska is scheduled to play Thursday in a makeup date against the Atlanta Crackers. Waleska has done it with a second-best 3.68 team ERA while holding opponents to a .234 batting average thus far. Offensively the Wild Things has scored the second-most runs in the league heading into Thursday's game as well (42).
