MONSTERS SET TO OPEN 2023 SEASON ON THE ROAD
The Chattahoochee Monsters are set to open the 2023 SunBelt Baseball League Season Friday and Saturday night at the Brookhaven Bucks. Frist pitch is slated for 7:05 pm.
The Monsters are newly-relocated from Oxford, Alabama where last season they finished second in the West Division behind new ballpark mates the Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots at 11-17 on the season. The Monsters were one of the best road teams in the league last season, going 8-6 away from Oxford and look to re-establish that success starting this weekend.
New Director of Baseball Operations and Field Manager Johnnie Eaton enters his first season with the Monsters. He also serves as the varsity outfield coach and first base offensive coach for Central High School in Phenix City, AL. Eaton helped lead Central to the 2020 AHSAA 7A Final Four. Eaton’s other stops in baseball include a record-setting 44 win season with the Wisconsin Woodchucks of the Northwoods League, as well as experience with the Waterloo Bucks, Badlands Big Sticks and Brewton-Parker College.
Chattahoochee will open the home portion of its schedule as part of a home-and-home against the Chatt-a-Hoots on Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10. Both games will start at 7:05 pm. Tickets are on sale now through the team office at (706) 507-4625 and online at monstersbb.com.
