MONSTERS NAME EATON MANAGER FOR 2023

COLUMBUS, GA - The Chattahoochee Monsters announced today that Johnnie (JD) Eaton will be the team’s manager in its first season at Golden Park in Columbus.


Eaton is the current varsity outfield coach and first base offensive coach for Central High School in Phenix City, AL.  Under his leadership the team reached the 2020 AHSAA 7A Final Four. He also served as the assistant hitting coach for and baserunning coordinator for the Wisconsin Woodchucks of the Northwoods League, and was a part of the team that set a new franchise record with 44 wins in 2021.


His other coaching experiences include the Waterloo Bucks, Badlands Big Sticks and Brewton-Parker College. Eaton played his college baseball at Point University where he helped lead the team to its first NAIA Regional appearance in school history. Before that he played with Lurleen B. Wallace Community College as well.


Eaton will be tasked with building the Monsters baseball team from the ground up over the next month or so as they prepare for the team’s exhibition debut on May 27 at Golden Park. The Monsters open the regular season on Friday, June 2 on the road against the Brookhaven Bucks at 7:05 pm.
