OXFORD, AL - The Choccolocco Monsters announced today that the team has hired Roby Brooks as Director of Baseball Operations.

Brooks played college baseball at Jacksonville State University under legendary coach Rudy Abbott from 1993-96, where he was named First-Team All-Conference. For the 1997 season, Brooks set a team record for doubles in a season with 26 and also hit .401 with 59 RBIs and a 1.211 OPS.

After a stint in the Frontier League with the Waterbury (CT) Spirit, Brooks turned his attention towards advancing the sport through his travel baseball organization, Top Gun Baseball. Brooks is the Owner and CEO of Top Gun, leading the nationally-ranked organization and helping athletes realize their highest potential. Top Gun provides individualized training to numerous young athletes, refining their technical skills across all facets of the game.

With the Monsters Brooks will be able to continue that work, assembling and guiding a team of collegiate players in the wood bat Sunbelt Baseball League. Officially recognized and supported by Major League Baseball, the SBL seeks to prepare players for potential pro playing careers while also giving them additional opportunities for improvement and exposure in a 38-game summer season.

The Monsters return to Oxford for the 2024 SBL season, with the home opener scheduled for Friday, June 7 at 7:05 pm CT against the Brookhaven Bucks. Tickets are $10 for general admission seats, and on sale right now through the Choccolocco Park Ticket Office or online at
