
MONSTERS FOUR-GAME WIN STREAK SNAPPED WITH LOSS TO HOOTS
COLUMBUS, GA - The Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots claimed the victory in the first head-to-head matchup with the Chattahoochee Monsters on Friday night by a 9-5 score.
With the win the Hoots now tie the Monsters atop the SunBelt Baseball League standings with a 4-1 record.
The two teams traded runs early and often, with the Hoots holding a 6-5 lead by the end of the fourth inning.
After that the game settled in until the bottom of the eighth, when the Hoots managed to push across three more runs and provide plenty of cushion heading into the ninth.
Ashton Shackelford closed the game for the Hoots, fanning two and walking one in his third appearance of the season. Brian Trepanier earned the victory for Columbus and Colton Dempsey took the loss for Chattahoochee.
